With so much to do, see and explore you’re going to want to get out there. Here are a few ways to do just that.

With your own secured, underground parking space on property, and the ease of owning a car in Mexico, you may decide that you want the convenience of having your own transportation. Below is information on the steps you need to take to own your own car at Luma.

Whether you have your own car or not, there are also several great public and private transportation options that promise to take you to all the places you want to go.

Owning a Car

If bringing a car into Mexico for the first time, you’ll need your U.S. driver’s license, a passport, a tourist card (available at AAA or the Mexican Consulate), a credit card, and your car’s registration papers.

If you intend to live in Mexico with a car, it is best to have FM3 immigration status. With an FM3, your car can remain in the country indefinitely. The law states that as long as your FM3 is current (renewed annually), your car can legally be in Mexico, even if its import papers have expired.

If you do choose to bring your car to Mexico, your lifestyle concierge will be more than happy to help guide you through the process.

Luma Car & Driver

Luma has a car and driver on-site that can be reserved in advance. Your lifestyle concierge can also arrange for taxi and shuttle services as needed.

Paradise Village Shuttles

As a Luma resident you have full access to the free shuttles from Paradise Village.

Water Taxi

A water taxi from the Paradise Village pier to Marina Vallarta and downtown Puerto Vallarta is within walking distance. It’s just 30 minutes to downtown Puerto Vallarta for about $10USD per person. Taxi has convenient scheduled departures throughout the day.
